EPISODE 015: CREATING JOY & COMBATING HOLIDAY STRESS…

EPISODE 15 GRAPHIC.png

Let’s talk about the weird holiday season and how we might be celebrating a little bit differently this year. For us, our Christmas Eve plans have definitely changed and I know you might be in the same boat.

So if you’re feeling a little down about how everything is going, I wanna offer you validation and encouragement. It’s perfectly okay to feel like this sucks. I’m not gonna just tell you to suck it up, put on a smile, and look for the good. I know there is a lot right now that isn’t awesome. So it’s okay to be mad or sad or disappointed., but you also don’t have to stay there. You can be sad and still shift into problem solver mode. You can mourn the things that you’ve had to cancel or change and still be excited about the new and different things you are going to try this year. It’s weird….but you can be in both places.

In this episode:

  • PULLING FROM MY POSITIVELY MERRY COURSE THE IDEA OF CREATING A HOLIDAY VISION. This helps you to be able to create feelings that you want to feel- instead of specifics. It’s going to be KEY in making this year feel awesome even if you have to change everything! So think about the feeling and vibe behind the traditions and activities- how can you get that same feeling…..

  • Take time to journal, close your eyes and visualize, meditate. Just take time to get quiet and figure out the feeling and vision you have in creating your holiday season.

  • Use a list of Holiday Affirmations (grab them here)

  • The pressure moms feel to create all the magic. And this year we are probably feeling it a LOT! You don’t have to feel that way. I invite you to LET GO! Let go of the unrealistic expectations or the traditions that bring you dread instead of joy. Take inventory of the things you think you “have” to do and figure out if you really do need to do them- or if it’s something you can release without feeling any guilt.

  • Self Care. It’s super important to stay consistent with the routines that you know help you show up as your best self. It’s easy to let things slip when you feel busy….but don’t! Stick to those routines. Yep, routines are a form of self care.
