Episode 36: End Your Day P.R.O.U.D

Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

TODAY I AM SPILLING THE TEA ON A NEW ACRONYM THAT I INVENTED. SOMETHING YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT ME IS THAT I AM A SUCKER FOR ANALOGIES AND ACRONYMS. SO IF I CAN MAKE SOMETHING INTO ONE OF THOSE THINGS…..YOU BET YOUR LITTLE BUTT THAT I AM GOING TO.

The Acronym is……(drumroll please…..)

P.R.O.U.D.

and it stands for:

Positive
Reflection
On
yoUR
Day

I have found that being proud of myself and being satisfied with my days was a missing piece in helping me live a life that I love. I was doing positive affirmations, setting intentions, getting in daily movement, practicing gratitude…..but there was something missing.

And that was being proud of myself. It was the reflection at the end of the day and being proud of who I was and how I showed up that day. Now, I know that pride can be an icky word. We don’t want to be prideful. And I know that feeling like you have to “earn” your worth is the exact opposite of what I’m going here for…..so hear me out.

It’s not to say that you have to do anything special or extraordinary each day to earn a hypothetical gold star- it’s more about that we stop overlooking and downplaying all the amazing things that we do each day! It’s being able to look at all those little things and be proud of ourselves.

To be able to reflect on the day and feel great. To know that no matter what happened, that we showed up. To really acknowledge ourselves and the impact we have on our families, the people around us, and ultimately the world.

I know that reflecting and learning to be proud of myself has been a game changer for me. For my confidence, for my courage to try new things, it’s helped me be a better mom and have more self compassion for myself.

So it might feel weird at first. But becoming the loudest, craziest, super fan of yourself is one of the best things you can do for yourself.
